Lauren Spriggs

Lauren is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based administrator with a background in delivering community engaged arts programs. She holds a BA in Art History with a minor in Journalism and Communications from the University of Queensland. Lauren draws on both her professional experience in the disability sector and personal experience as a carer when approaching work in the lived experience space.

She is proud to work on MIFA’s Out From The Mist project, an international arts competition and exhibition that uses creativity to spark conversations about mental health. Lauren enjoys being part of a project that gives people a platform to share their stories through photography, film, and music, helping to break down stigma and shift perspectives. She values the way the project combines art and advocacy, and finds it deeply rewarding to see the courage and creativity of participants celebrated on a national stage.
