Lived Experience Training Officer

Asha Vassiliadis

Asha is a Lived Experience Training Officer based in Western Sydney, NSW. She is passionate about strengthening the voice of people with lived and living experience of mental health challenges. Drawing on her own experiences, Asha is committed to ensuring that lived and living experience is recognised as essential expertise in shaping more compassionate and inclusive mental health systems that are designed by the people they exist to support.

Asha brings experience across peer support, suicide prevention, and lived experience advocacy. She has shared her lived and living experience in a range of spaces, including as a representative at NSW Ambulance Headquarters, within the NSW Government, and as a speaker at conferences.

Asha believes meaningful reform in mental health can only happen when the voices of those most affected are centred in decision-making. A quote she values in her work and that guides her is “Nothing about us without us.”
