460,000 Australians missing out

This World Mental Health Day, the Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (MIFA) is calling for urgent government action after new data revealed that nearly 7 in 10 people with severe mental illness have no access to community support.

MIFA CEO Tony Stevenson says the neglect is on a massive scale, with thousands of Australians turning to hospitals and emergency departments because they have nowhere else to go.

“Thousands of Australians are ending up in hospitals and emergency departments because it’s their only option.”
