2023 MIFA Annual Report
We are thrilled to present MIFA’s 2022-2023 Annual Report, which showcases our collective efforts and contributions towards mental health reform and lived experience leadership and expertise over the past financial year.
There have been many advocacy highlights over the year, with two Parliamentary Friends of Mental Health events in Canberra, two national media campaigns, five formal submissions, 38 meetings with Parliamentarians, 56 letters to politicians, 105 media interviews and 130 stakeholder meetings to influence change and provide advice.
We continued to have a strong focus on collaboration with our MIFA Member organisations and with our sector partners, leading the National Psychosocial Support Advocacy Alliance Campaign and working with 40 other organisations to address the gap in psychosocial supports.
MIFA’s lived experience initiatives have grown from strength to strength and we continued to share the importance of valuing and including lived experience expertise in everything we do. The Finding North Website, Finding North Network, Perspectives 2022 Finding North Network Lived Experience e-Symposium and Out From The Mist continued to showcase lived experience stories and spread hope and connection.
To all our sponsors, funders and partners, we say thank you. Your support of our initiatives and your collegiality in working in partnership with us to improve the mental health system and elevate the lived experience movement is so greatly appreciated. Here’s to another great year at MIFA!
