Rachael Burns

Rachael Burns (she/her) is an intersectional Lived and Living Experience advocate from Boorloo (Perth, WA). Her work spans research, journalism, filmmaking, public speaking, policy reform, service evaluation, governance, and more. She is also the CEO and Founder of Integrity Initiative.

Rachael first connected with Finding North in 2024 at the WA in-person networking event. Since then, she has written blogs, completed the Lived Experience Speakers Program, attended Parliamentary Friends of Mental Health 2025, spoken at Perspectives 2026 and beyond. In July of 2026, she joined the MIFA team as a Lived Experience Trainer.  

She brings her lived expertise alongside compassion, determination and curiosity. She is committed to advancing the Consumer/Survivor movement and ensuring that Lived Experience is valued, platformed and embedded across all disciplines, guided by the belief that systems work better when they’re shaped collaboratively, by  and for the people who know what it is like to navigate them.
