Di Krome

Lived Experience Project Officer

Di Krome

Di’s early career spanned Chartered Accounting, project management, organisational design, and management consulting – with a strong focus on governance, risk, and stakeholder engagement.

Di loves working with numbers, but through her lived experience of suicide and mental health challenges she came to realise that people are more important than any metric. Her lived experience led her towards more meaningful work in the suicide prevention and mental health spaces – specialising in lived experience engagement, advocacy, and community development.

Di is a huge proponent of lived experience-led change and believes wellbeing is a collective endeavour. Di is influencing systems and services at regional, state, and national levels so that people experiencing distress have access to place-based community supports, when they need it, where they need it, and how they need it.

Di is leading the co-design of the Finding North Website 2.0 in collaboration with co-design teams from First Nations peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and LGBTIQA+SB individuals, ensuring their voices shape future content, and user experience.

The objective of the project is to make mental health information more accessible, inclusive, and representative of diverse communities. So that people with a lived experience can…

  • Seek reliable support
  • More readily navigate mental health systems and
  • Find ways to live well and thrive.
