Urgent action required to support people with severe mental illness
Tony Stevenson, CEO of the Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (MIFA), has expressed deep disappointment over the lack of urgent action on psychosocial support for Australians living with severe mental illness following the Health Ministers meeting on 16 August 2024. Despite a report revealing that over 230,500 people are missing out on essential support, ministers failed to commit to concrete investments, neglecting the basic human rights of those in need.
